For my senior thesis project, I decided to document my experience with learning to make fabric, beginning with raw fiber. I was lucky enough to find someone willing to provide me with a decent amount of alpaca wool, completely free. From there, I spent countless hours (and no small amount of money) researching and practicing the skills and techniques I needed to be able to complete this project.
